Day 7 part 2 : Chad Future Breaking Boundaries
Chad Future is an American K-pop artist who is breaking boundaries worldwide as he breaks the norm of a kpop artist. Some people believe that only Asians and Koreans should sing K-pop, but what's wrong with the sharing of culture especially since music is meant to be shared.

Day 7 : My chosen subgenre British K-POP
I have decided that my final sub-genre will be K-pop because
of its uniqueness in style and the diversity of its audience. K-pop is very appealing with its teen friendly sound and trendsetting image, to me all of these aspects make K-pop different from other music genres.
When people think K-pop they think automatically assume only Koreans can sing it, however the UK has a large K-pop scene which is filled with people from all over singing top K-pop hits.

An example of upcoming British K-pop artists would be singer Lilly
and rapper YF. Both of these artists are under UKP Entertainment, even though they haven’t debuted yet they’re active on
the internet promoting their label and promoting themselves as artists.

Day 6 part 3 : My analysis of 2 chosen magazines & Video on Similarities in Colour
For are holiday homework, we had to analyse 2 magazines of a chosen genre. I picked Kpop and Pop, because they're the genres I'm most interested in. Throughout this sliderocket presentation, you will see my analysis of French Korean music magazine which is distributed in the UK Kpop Life, and British music magazine Top of the Pops.
I also decided to do a 30 second quick summary, of the similarities both magazines share in relation to colour. I originally wanted to make the video longer, however for free you can only make a video of 30 seconds.
Make your own slideshow at Animoto.
What I learnt from analyzing magazines :
Make your own slideshow at Animoto.
What I learnt from analyzing magazines :
- That not every music magazine focuses just on music.
- Colour is important, as it can represent who the magazine is aimed at.
- I learnt that in my magazine, I need to focus on how the style relates to the genre
- I learnt that I need to use a variety of font sizes, so the reader sees the importance behind the different sizes.
- I will need to plan the layout of the double page spread, front page and contents page, by researching different magazines and using them as inspiration.
- That you have to use 3 colours or more that harmonize well, with the images used and the text.
- Using a white or black background, would be easier to work with and crop to suite your magazine.
- Serrif and San serrif fonts give different feelings and auras, depending on how you want your magazine to come across.
- Most magazines use pull qoutes, so I think it would be a good idea to attract the reader just like competitions.

The automated text wasn't very successful in the first video, so I decided to use Go animate instead because you're able to record your voice, and put it in the animation. Kpop Life magazine by miss_no_good on GoAnimate

Day 5 : What I've learnt from Analyzing a Classic Rock,Kpop and Country magazine
From Analyzing a Classic Rock magazine, a Kpop magazine and a Country music magazine. I realised that taking the genre of music into consideration while designing a magazine is key. A Hip Hop magazine is very unlikely to have, a bright pink and girly theme as the genre has connotations of roughness and urban style, a Teen mainstream Pop magazine would most likely have this design.

Edited version :
The grayscale in the original looks better because it targets the right audience of rap listeners, as well as using the right colours to match the genre of music.

Day 3 : Interesting ways to format information
For our holiday h/w we've been given a task to complete, which involves being aware of technology and presenting your research creatively, so I decided to create a mindmap I could refer back to once I begin analyzing and researching for my project.
I made this mindmap using http://Bubbl.us
The internet is a good source for analyzing data, however in my project I think doing some projects by hand will give you an edge. e.g Collages and moodboards. This research really helped me structure my ideas.

Day 2 : Analysing Music Magazines
I'm currently thinking what music genre I could base my magazine on.
Music genre has a big influence on the design and style of the magazine, e.g if your doing a rock magazine you'd expect black and more darker colours to be shown in the magazine, however not all rock magazines follow these conventions it depends on the audience for example "Kerrang" which we were introduced in class by Ms Burn, uses bright blues and yellow which give off a rebellious aura as the audience is young people. So to relate to our findings I decided to find 3 different magazines and anaylse what the colours represent and the focus audience the marketer was aiming for.

From my research I found that indeed music genre does influence the style of the magazine, but also that the designer will take several things into consideration e.g what the artists are wearing with the colours used in the magazine, and making sure they harmonize well and don't clash. I also noticed that magazines tend to use 2-3 colours on their magazine e.g "K-POP GIRLS" uses pink and grey and "Country Weekly" uses yellow, white and orange. Overall I have learnt that that I will neeed to take several things into consideration when planning my magazine.

Day 1 : Starting Blogger & Using Twitter
Day 1 : Today we created our blogs using Blogger. Ms Mottram informed us that we would
all have to present our research in different ways, so I thought creating a Twitter page would be a great way to communicate with potential musicians and artists I could use for my magazine. We also discussed several different other ways we could present our information e.g through Prezi,Tumblr and other social networking sites which would make our progress more appealing to the examiner.
